Hunting and Giving

A salubrious green possessed BT's heart this year. After an arduous, meticulous, and airy planning and preparation all by herself (except "growing" the fruit part), a self-made costume was timely done. Look, with great intrepidity, a bunch of shiny grapes was knocking the doors in the neighborhood. Far away, a slovenly-dressed witch was lurking in the shadows...

Ahhhhh......choooo!!

Who is He?

Tuh hee. He scrambles up the waterspout with spindly legs,
And weaves a veil of gossamer webs.
His eight hairy legs tickle, twist, and twitch,
As he devours a gnat, bloody and rich.
He hangs by a thread directly above you,
He gives you a jolt by residing in your shoe.
He's agile, cunning and maliciously sly...
Who is He? My friend, it is... I.

In Martele Practice Vibrato

In martele practice vibrato,
Use fast stopping bow for the staccato.
In detache sustain pressure,
Left hand fingers lighter and faster.
Don't forget to turn your elbow,
Relax your fingers when holding the bow.
Shift from first position to third to fifth,
Prepare first: don't start forthwith.
None of these things you can go without...
Oh my... too many things to think about.

Tuh hee.

Ah tuh hee! Ah B the T literally, playing WITH the violin... hahahahahahahaha...

Meet the Fall!

Sharon Woods, a 730-acre nature park about 10 miles away from Mason - the city where we live, is always replete with wonders and excitement to BT and is one of our must-gos in fall.

It was 53 degrees Fahrenheit, the air was a little chilly, and BT and MT were wrapped up in warm hoodies. The leaves danced in dresses of bright reds and yellow, some still wearing their green from the lingering days of summer. The leaves crunched under our paws as we trotted along the path.

BT's favorite trail is the 1-mile Parcours Fitness Trail which has workout stations that exercise each of the major muscle groups. Look, what a B-the-T stunt on the double bars (BT's favorite station)!

Though this time, we were not greeted by any deer or snakes, we surely were coolly welcomed by a group of frisky squirrels, a lovely mushroom, and as always, a myriad of trees...

Drinkety Brink

A dink took a drink by the brinkety brink.
A fink took a drink by the brinkety brink.
A mink took a drink by the brinkety brink.
Oh the drinkety drinkety brinkety brinkety drinkety drinkety brink!

Math Counts

BT was experiencing a torturous entrance exam at school last week - 1 hour with 30 challenging problems on logic, algebra, geometry, and probability, for the eligibility of Math Counts; only top 25 students out of 870 sixth graders will be accepted.

What a same degree, if not more, torturous mixed feeling I was having, daring to take the challenge is always what I encourage her; but if she doesn't make it, it would unavoidably be a big blow, how bad would the dent be to her, mentally and spiritually ? How could I help to restore her original shining condition back? Is it really a good idea to put her under such a high pressure environment? ... I didn't sleep well these days. Books from Amazon ordered.

Luckily, she made it!!! Yay!!! I feel relieved today. It gives me a little more time to prepare this subject.

Drink! Drink!! Drink!!!

A fact, according to alive.com, "75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated and fail to drink the minimum eight glasses of water every day." Doesn't it sound alarming?

Next to air, water is the element most crucial for survival and well being. Duh! If there isn't enough water, wastes in our body are not removed as effectively and may build up as kidney stones. Water also is vital for chemical reactions in digestion and metabolism. It carries nutrients and oxygen to the cells through the blood and helps to cool the body through perspiration.

Signals of mild dehydration can be any of the following symptoms:
. Fatigue
. Thirst
. Dizziness
. Light-headedness
. Dry mouth and nose
The minimum for a healthy person is eight to ten eight-ounce glasses a day. Are you drinking enough water?

To those who immerse themselves deeply in their work I shout, with greatest vehemence I have, literally and figuratively, "D-R-I-N-K Y-O-U-R W-A-T-E-R!" :)

The Best Ship

BT showed me this yesterday - a gift for her from her "oldest" friend Taylor, a girl she met in kindergarten, and now reunited in 6th grade, how precious!

Isn't it interesting to see the reflection of BT in her little friend's eyes? I can't stop smiling...for BT has found such a matching buddy and the best ship at school!!

Clouds

Horses are scudding across the sky,
The bulk of an elephant is billowing high,
A bear floats in a baby blue lagoon,
While a crane slowly morphs into a loon.
A rabbit hops upon an armadillo,
The Billy goat's beard looks sort of like a pillow.
A sea turtle's wearing an elegant beret,
A hippo seems to be wearing a toupee.

The menagerie is orange at dusk and at dawn,
Just prance out in the morning and plop on the lawn.
The sky comes alive as the sun gives you a kiss,
I love it when it's a day like this.
